Jim deBarros is a Brooklyn based artist and designer whose work focuses on intimate watercolor portraits. His work reflects subtle emotion with the spontaneity of a snap shot. Inspired by artists like Nan Golden, Barry Moser, Ted Lewin and others. Pratt Institute was a neighbor and ultimately his school of choice. He has illustrated covers for HBJ Publishers and worked as a designer for Sony Music, and Elektra Records. He has shown in small galleries in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Long Island. He currently works for MTV as VP of Off Air Creative leading the design team promoting shows like SKINS, Beavis and Butt-Head, VMA’s and more.
